Zakat ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT...

Zakat collected are used to procure merchandise goods, vocational materials, and equipment among others. This, we do in order to assist the poor to establish small-scale enterprises or repositioning of existing ones.

EDUCATION SUPPORT

In fulfilment of the obligation of Allah to acquire knowledge, Z & S is seriously concerned about the education of Muslim students. We pay for their school fees, procurement of educational materials and research grants to both local and international students among others.

Medical Support

One other area that engage our attention as a matter of priority is medical support. We are aware that many people patronise unorthodox places when they could not afford medical bills from the hospitals.

We responded to some requests within our ability and available resources by expending the sum of N1.7 million during the current year to offset hospital bills for  medications, treatments and surgical operations. It is very unfortunate that we were unable to solve some other cases begging for consideration due to financila constrain and the nature of the ailments which required foreign treatments.

The board has put in place some meatures to improvr our medical support for serious and urgent cases both within and outside the country. We avail ourselves of this opportunity to call on well meaning Muslims all over the world, donor agencies to partner with the Foundation in this regard so that we put smiles on the faces of those afficted with one ailment or the other.

Humanitarian/Welfare Support

This is an area of broad activities under the Foundation. The whole idea is about bringing succour to Muslims and mankind generally in special areas like emergency relief, prisons, welfare homes, orphanages and widow amongst others. The sum of N1.3 million naira was expended in this regard.
